We are thrilled you would like to register for Summer Springboard @ Cal Poly. Your two week summer experience will include hands-on workshops with Cal Poly faculty, college admissions prep, engaging guest speakers and a chance to explore the beautiful California coast.

Through the completion of a Summer Springboard @ Cal Poly program, students will receive:

  • 3 continuing education units (CEUs) from Cal Poly Extended Education. While CEUs cannot be used towards an undergraduate degree, students can showcase CEUs on their CV and college applications to demonstrate knowledge improvement accomplishments.

  • a letter of recommendation from an active Cal Poly professor

  • a certificate of completion from Summer Springboard.

Application Process

When you click the ‘Apply Now’ button above, you will be taken to the Terra Education application portal. Not to worry, you are in the right place.

  1. First, you will enter your name and email. You will receive an email to verify.

  2. From there you will be prompted to create a password and then login with your new credentials.

  3. Once logged in, you will complete your profile.

  4. From the menu in the top left corner, you will select New Application. Scroll down to find Cal Poly SLO under the West Coast heading. Once selected, you will choose your course and confirm the session dates.

  5. Next you will select Residential or Commuter.

  6. After, you select your program you will add your student information.

  7. You will then have the choice to either complete the full application or pay the application fee and deposit to hold your spot and complete the application within 2 weeks.

  8. The remaining application steps include a medical questionnaire and student-answered application questions.

We review completed applications and notify students of final decisions by email in 7 to 10 business days.

Summer Springboard @ Cal Poly is a partnership between The Cal Poly Extended, Professional & Continuing Education and Summer Springboard (SSB), a leader in pre-college summer programs for teens. The purpose of the program is to expose students to Cal Poly’s Learn by Doing philosophy and to allow high school students to experience living on the campus of Cal Poly.
